Before proceeding, we will briefly summarise some key moments in Klara Zetkin’s life. Years earlier, Klara Eissner (later Zetkin) and Ossip Zetkin fled Russia for Paris via Zurich. Ossip died in Paris in 1889.

In 1891, Klara Zetkin moved to Stuttgart with her sons Maxim and Kostja. There she met Robert Bosch and, in 1899, she married painter Friedrich Zundel; the marriage. During their marriage, Zundel had a secret relationship with Paula Bosch, daughter of Robert Bosch. After divorcing Zundel in 1928, Klara relocated to Berlin, and in autumn 1932 escaped to Moscow to flee Nazi Germany., she died in June 1933.

W. I. Lenin was also several times guest at Zetkin / Zundels in Stuttgart.
