Justice, Persecution 1871 - 1933

Germany, Political History,

Justice, Persecution 1871 - 1933

Works originally written in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Newly published titles*.

The founding of the ‘second Reich’ on 30 January 1871 was an unification of independent German States, such a Baden, Bavaria, Prussia, Hannover, Wuertemberg etc., under the ‘leadership’ of PRUSSIA with its Capital Berlin. Including the self-proclamation of the Prussian King Wilhelm as German Emperor (‘Deutscher Kaiser’) on January 18, 1871, in the Palace of Versailles.

After that date the Prussian / German ‘Reich’s Chancellor’ Otto von Bismarck, became the strong man in this new founded Germany. And the remaining ‘power’ of the formerly independent states in Germany (some are itemized above) was henceforth limited.

Bismarck’s entire approach to this German unification was based on a breach of the Prussian constitution (H. A. Winkler, Wie wir wurden, was wir sind, Munich, 2020, p. 43). In other words, it was a political ‘coup’ of the Politicians.

It is therefore not surprising that seven years after this spectacle in Versailles, judicial ‘interventions’ in the still young German state occurred, known as the ‘Socialist Law,’ which between 1878 and 1890 led to persecutions etc.
